15th century manor house in Irixoa

The structure of the Pazo itself is in good condition (in particular the walls). Next to the Pazo there are some old stables that have been restored into a splendid stone house of about 240 m2 distributed in 2 floors, ready to be occupied. It has 4 bedrooms, three of which have en-suite bathrooms, and there is an additional toilet on the ground floor. There are two spacious living rooms, one of them with dining area, and a huge kitchen with ample dining capacity. This U-shaped house is surrounded by a courtyard/garden. The property has central heating and the normal amenities of any modern house. It is being sold furnished.

To give you an idea of the splendour of this property in the past, a detail: there was (and still is in part) a granite gutter through which water came to the pazo from a spring located 200 metres inside the property itself, which, on entering the house, was made of ceramic inside the kitchen. It has large centenary trees on the estate and even a stone dovecote.

Irixoa is a large municipality, but it does not have a large population centre, which is scattered throughout different villages and places. Within its arboreal mass there is an abundance of different species of pine trees, but there are also mixed forests in which oak trees are frequent and chestnut trees are rarer.

The main tourist attraction of the municipality is derived from its landscape and its exuberant nature. Hunting and sport fishing find in the municipality of Irixoa one of the few paradises that are still preserved in our land. It is very close to the river Mandeo, to Betanzos and only 30 minutes from the international airport of A Coruña.

For all these reasons, location, beauty, space, quality, and above all its dimensions, we think that it offers multiple possibilities to become a rural hotel business or a splendid restaurant, or both at the same time... There is space and independence for it. It can be said that this property is unique in Galicia if we take into account all these possibilities.

The municipality of Irixoa is located in a transition zone between the plateau of Lugo and the coastal regions of As Mariñas and Ferrolterra. Two relatively important roads cross the municipality. From west to east they cross the local road 640 from Betanzos to Viveiro, and the local road 153, from Montesalgueiro to Pontedeume. Both cross at the place known as Pazo de Irixoa, where the municipal capital is located.
