This unique gem was built in the 17th century, at a time when its location was on the outskirts of the city of Pontevedra. The city has expanded over the past four centuries, and today this Pazo sits in a perfect setting—by the estuary and in the heart of the city. Close to airports, yet without losing the tranquility of a peaceful town. These contrasts are what make Pontevedra such a unique city. Vigo (28 km) and Santiago de Compostela (43 km) are the nearest international airports to Pontevedra. Additionally, its location between these two cities places it at the neuralgic center of Galicia: business, commerce, culture, and administration. And for leisure: beaches 12 minutes away, three nearby golf courses, casinos... Everything you need to make meetings or corporate events an absolute success.
This one-of-a-kind gem was built in the 17th century—a palace in the center of Pontevedra. The city has grown over the past four centuries, and today, as back then, the pazo is located in a perfect spot.

Vigo (28 km) and Santiago de Compostela (43 km) are the nearest international airports to Pontevedra. A main building of 675 m² and a private romantic park of 14,862 m², right in the center of Pontevedra.
You enter through a grand stone gate flanked by two lions beside the family crests—an impressive sight. From there, a tree-lined path with lush magnolias leads to the pazo, with a fountain at the center of a small square that structures the garden.
Among these trees, flowerbeds, and fountains once walked the Council of Ministers of King Alfonso XIII. And here, part of the country's history was shaped during that fascinating time. For this has always been the residence of a family with deep Galician roots and significant political influence in the region. A stone in a secluded fountain on the estate is dated 1620, bearing witness to the property's great age.
The atmosphere and perfect setting are already in place. And the space: 14,862 m² to accommodate whatever you envision—from an incomparable home to a very special hotel, a high-level business center, or even an institutional building.
The grand main building, made of granite stone, has two floors and a robust crenellated tower. It features a generous layout: 12 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, dining room, living room, lounge with gallery or solana, study, library, a large utility room, and a beautiful kitchen. There is also a wine press, cellar, and an external garage of 30 m². The approximate area of the building is 675 m².
A unique property thanks to both its strategic location and its remarkable state of preservation. This exceptional urban space offers countless possibilities—for business, leisure, or simply enjoying a lifestyle from another era, right in the heart of the 21st century.
These architectural elements and their inclusion in the estate define its unique character as a pazo.
Galician manor houses often had separate buildings to house the estate's caretakers. This one, built of stone and mortar in Portuguese style, has 150 m². It also includes stables, a hayloft, and storage.
And a rarity: due to its size and construction, this is one of the few existing examples of this type of hórreo (a traditional Galician granary). Supported by 12 stone pillars, it stands above a storage area, aligned with the pazo and the stunning stone chapel.
The chapel is what elevates a manor house to the category of pazo. It has direct access from the interior for the owners and an additional entrance from the street to receive guests if desired. It can accommodate about 40 people, with an area of approximately 85 m².
The Malvar brothers, deans of the Cathedral of Santiago, commissioned the construction of the pazo. It was the early 17th century. In fact, in the spring of 1616, both Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare passed away—two authors who represent the best of world literature. What would Pontevedra have looked like at that time? Can you imagine...? Today, Pontevedra is a modern city, though still a stately one, drawing much of its momentum from the giant that is Vigo. It continues to preserve, in many corners, the spirit of a traditional provincial capital—without the stress of a big city.
The Pazo is located in the capital of the province of Pontevedra, at the junction of the roads to Ourense and Vigo. Just five minutes on foot from the train station (and soon to be connected by high-speed AVE trains). A 20-minute walk to the city center. And only 400 meters from exit 132-B of the Vigo-Pontevedra-Santiago motorway—where, depending on your direction, you’ll be flying from one of its international airports to the rest of the world.
